In life and in the courtroom, I have always fought for those who cannot fight for themselves, or for the underdogs. My clients aren't banks, they are people, most of whom have never had a lawyer before in their lives. So nothing makes me angrier than a person or company taking advantage of people who are vulnerable.
I have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau but because Laurie Payne and her business, "Smooth Moves" is not a member, so when she would not respond to the complaint, there was nothing the BBB could do other than keep my complaint on file.
Ms. Payne is an inside-the-beltline, Junior League, Southern lady in whose mouth butter would not melt. Unfortunately, she is untrustworthy and should not be dealing with vulnerable seniors. How do you damage beautiful gilt mirror frames and laquered chairs-- not to mention gouges in bannister posts and rips in upholstery and not mention anything, get your cash and run? How do you fail to account for a missing lap top? Ms. Payne simply won't answer for herself. But she wants her money right away, and my mother paid her thousands!
